Who should attend?
Potential and existing operators who have received no formal instruction and those requiring refresher training.
Duration:
1 day including safety awareness and achievement test for one catergory of MEWP. Additional catergories of MEWP will require further half day per machine type.
Aims:
To give training and assessment towards the
LGH Training
Certificates of Training achievement and provide proof of training for use at the delegate's place of work.
Content:
At the end of the course the operative should be able to:
- understand the requirements of the relevant legislation
- explain the functions of the major components and identify them
- carry out a pre and post use inspection check, set-up and full functional operation testt
- plan the work activity of the machine type and carry it out in a safe and proper manner
- check the correct and incorrect working practices including wind, siting, stability, safe working and other hazards
Knowledge:
At the end of the course the operative should have an adequate knowledge of:
- the duties and responsibilities, as required by statute, of a user
- the inspection, set-up, pre/post use operational checks, work planning, safe operating techniques, parking and securing of MEWPS
- the correct and incorrect uses of MEWPS
- the safe and proper practices when using this type of equipment
