COSHH (LETI 26)
Who should attend?
Potential and existing operators who have received no formal instruction and those requiring refresher training.
Duration:
Half a day including achievement test.
Aims:
To give training and assessment towards the
LGH Training
Certificates of Training achievement and provide proof of training for use at the delegate's place of work.
Content:
At the end of the course the operative should be able to:
- understand the requirements of the relevant legislation
- recognise and highlight the dangers of hazardous substances in the workplace
- confirm the need for risk assessments and control systems
- comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations
Knowledge:
At the end of the course the operative should have an adequate knowledge of:
- the duties and responsibilities, as required by statute, of the competent person
- what constitutes hazardous substances
- how to risk assess and control hazardous substances
- the requirement to provide adequate PPE or equipment
- typical site operations requiring COSHH corrective measures
